Julie Braman Kane Receives Lambert Award

Colson Hicks Eidson attorney Julie Braman Kane has been awarded the Marie Lambert Award by the American Association for Justice Women's Caucus.

Established in l997, the Marie Lambert Award recognizes and honors female members of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) for their exemplary leadership and service to the legal profession, the community, and the AAJ Women's Caucus.

"I am humbled and honored to receive this award," said Kane. "Marie Lambert was a role model for trial attorneys, and it is my privilege to share my experience and passion for the legal profession by continuing her tradition of mentoring and helping further the careers of female trial attorneys."

The Women's Caucus is composed of female attorneys that join together to discuss issues that affect women in law. Members of the Caucus strive to instill its principles which are to provide role models as woman trial lawyers, uphold the integrity of the legal profession, develop female leadership roles within the American Association for Justice, and act as a support system of women lawyers with whom to network, socialize, and form professional relationships.

Kane practices in the areas of products liability, class action, commercial litigation, medical malpractice and personal injury at Colson Hicks Eidson. She is the president-elect of the Miami-Dade Chapter for the Florida Association of Women and serves on the Board of Directors for the American Association for Justice and the Florida Justice Association. Kane also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Justice PAC and the National College of Advocates.

Celene Humphries was recognized as a 2007 Florida Super Lawyer and as a 2007 “Legal Elite” in appellate practice by Florida Trend Magazine. She was also recognized as one of the top 50 female Florida Super Lawyers.

Celene Humphries chaired the steering committee for the 2007 Annual Appellate Justice Conference, which is an annual event hosted by the Conference of District Court of Appeal Judges and the Appellate Practice Section of The Florida Bar. She currently chairs the steering committee for the 2008 Successful Appellate Advocacy Seminar, which is a multi-day seminar in which appellate judges provide hands on appellate practice instruction.

Also, Ms. Humphries was recently appointed to the planning committee for the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Second District Court of Appeal Celebration and to the Board of Directors for Historical Preservation Society for the Second District Court of Appeal.
