The Florida Justice Association created the FJA Women's Caucus in 1997. Women members and the law firms in which they practice concentrate in areas that include personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, professional negligence, product liability, nursing home negligence, employment and labor law, consumer rights, workers' compensation, elder law, constitutional law, criminal defense, and health and insurance law. We also work to maintain the independence of Florida's judiciary and preserve the protections our legal system affords individuals and their families.
Through FJA, members are active in the legislative and political arenas of Florida. During legislative sessions, women trial lawyers work hand in hand with the FJA lobby team striving to preserve the laws that protect Florida's citizens. They also serve on the Florida Justice PAC's Regional Task Forces that help identify candidates for political office. Women's Caucus members also play a major role in FJA's Continuing Legal Education program as seminar chairs and speakers. In addition to their statewide activities, many members are also active at the national level through their efforts with the American Association for Justice (AAJ).
