   :: Sections

FJA Sections help members network and share strategies and information specific to their area of expertise. Section membership is one of the many benefits of being an FJA member. To join a Section listed below, contact the FJA Membership Department at membership@floridajusticeassociation.org or call (850) 224-9403.

Appellate Practice Section

The Appellate Practice Section is the first and only group of its kind organized for the express purpose of addressing matters of interest to lawyers who handle appeals and other proceedings in the state and federal appellate courts, civil and criminal. Whether your practice involves only an occasional appeal, or you primarily or exclusively handle appeals, this Section has something for you! Section activities include:

Continuing Legal Education
Liaison with Appellate Rule Maker
Journal Articles/Newsletter
Amicus Curiae Committee Support

Women's Caucus

The Women’s Caucus Section works to identify and promote diversity and minority participation in both the Caucus and the association while raising the profile of women trial lawyers. Among the Section’s many activities are membership building, continuing legal education, mentoring and community service. Enhance your ability to protect your client’s rights by joining the Women’s Caucus today!

Workers' Compensation

The Workers’ Compensation Section of FJA works to further the best interests of injured workers and their dependents. This is accomplished by encouraging and promoting the continuing legal education of Section members and calling attention to proposed legislation that will affect their practice.

Young Lawyers Section

Are you under 36 years old? Have you been in practice less than 11 years?

Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been in practice for a few years, this Section allows you to network with other young lawyers and gain needed insight and perspective from your colleagues.

The FJA Young Lawyers Section is actively involved in the association’s goals of protecting the civil justice system. Section membership also provides many opportunities to network on a statewide level.
