In 1984, FJA leadership created EAGLE, the fundraising arm of FJA and of it’s political action committee, the Florida Lawyers Action Group (FLAG). FLAG’s aggressive fundraising efforts and its political program support lawmakers who insist on good public policy and champion the rights of the people they are elected to represent. Our EAGLE members work with FLAG to expand the pro-consumer, pro-safety base in the Florida Legislature and to pursue the association’s goal of protecting the civil justice system.

In the years since its creation, EAGLE has grown into a powerful team of more than 600 lawyers, and has been joined by businesses and concerned citizen EAGLE’s who share our principles. The EAGLE team recognizes the urgent need to defend Florida citizens against powerful special interests that place profits over safety and whose carefully placed campaign contributions are used to force lawmakers to pass dangerous legislation that threatens the safety of Florida families.

The EAGLE team’s efforts fuel FJA and FLAG. In the political arena, EAGLE’s commitment and support enable FJA to make a powerful difference legislatively. EAGLE supports FJA in its work to ensure good legislation becomes good public policy, and that the laws passed meet the needs of Florida’s citizens.

EAGLE members receive exclusive invitations to regional legislative receptions and FJA leadership retreats. We make sure our members have the tools they need to communicate effectively with legislators, the media and allied citizens’ advocacy groups across the state. Each EAGLE member is recognized in FJA’s award-winning monthly Journal publication. In addition, members receive discounts on select Continuing Legal Education seminar registration fees, and their FJA and FLAG membership dues are waived for contributors of $2,500 or more. While EAGLE members receive significant benefits, perhaps the greatest reward EAGLE team members receive is the knowledge that they are making an enduring difference in the lives of Florida citizens.
